Connect ChatGPT
Add PanelWave as a custom MCP connector in ChatGPT, sign in to PanelWave, and let ChatGPT read and edit your works.
ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers through custom connectors, which you create in developer mode. You add the PanelWave address, sign in to PanelWave, and choose what ChatGPT may do.
ChatGPT's developer mode is meant for trusted, advanced use and is only available on some ChatGPT plans. OpenAI changes its menus often; if a step looks different, search OpenAI's help center for "developer mode" and "MCP connectors".
Add the connector
Turn on developer mode
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode.
Create the connector
Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create. Name it PanelWave, enter the MCP server URL and choose OAuth as the authentication:

Sign in to PanelWave
ChatGPT opens a PanelWave page. Sign in, check the requested permissions on Connect an app to PanelWave, untick anything you don't want, and click Allow.
Use it in a chat
In a new chat, choose developer mode from the tools menu and switch on the PanelWave connector. Then ask: "Which PanelWave works do I have?"
Working with ChatGPT
ChatGPT sees the same tools as any other assistant. Ask for one step at a time, and check the result in the PanelWave editor before you continue. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it runs a tool that writes data; PanelWave additionally asks before anything destructive, such as deleting a panel or publishing to production.
Examples:
- "Show me the outline of my work Rooftop."
- "Add three speech balloons to panel 4: Mira says 'Look up.', Tom answers 'At what?', and a caption reads 'Midnight.'"
- "Which balloons are not translated into German yet?"
ChatGPT can't upload files from your computer into PanelWave. Upload artwork in the editor, or use an assistant with the local bridge.
Disconnecting
Open Profile → Connected apps & access tokens in PanelWave and click Disconnect next to ChatGPT. Deleting the connector in ChatGPT only removes it on ChatGPT's side.
