The format is open: the JSON Schema is licensed CC BY 4.0, and the player library plus @panelwave/types and @panelwave/cli are MIT-licensed — anyone can build, embed, and publish works with them at no cost. The source is public on GitHub (schema, player, types and CLI) and the libraries install from npm. The PanelWave CMS is a proprietary SaaS product. Content you create in the PanelWave format remains yours; the format imposes no license on works.
